Cristina’s practice includes general corporate and commercial advice, equity capital markets transactions and infrastructure projects.

 

Prior to joining ASW Law, Cristina was a Senior Associate at Eversheds Sutherland in Qatar, where she had a broad corporate practice. Highlights of her practice include advising the Government of the State of Qatar on public partnership projects related to strategic national infrastructure and local companies on listings on the Qatar Stock Exchange. She has represented clients in the private and the public sector, including large market cap companies as well as market entrants in a variety of industries, advising on general corporate compliance, incorporations and a plethora of Qatari law aspects. She has also advised the State of Qatar on improvements to existing laws, in particular in relation to data protection, in respect of which she provided advice to Qatari and international companies. Prior to relocating to Qatar, Cristina trained with Eversheds Sutherland in the UK, gaining experience in acquisitions and disposals, reorganisations and real estate finance.

Deal Experience
  • Advising Meeza QSTP LLC (Public), a leading Qatari data centre services provider, on its approx. USD 192 million IPO and listing on the Main Market of the Qatar Stock Exchange, making it the first company ever based in the Qatar Science and Technology Park (a stand-alone Qatari free zone jurisdiction) to be listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange and the first company ever to be listed using the book building mechanism in Qatar; the transaction also involved the amendment of the Qatar Science and Technology Park’s regulations to allow companies registered in this free zone to go public
  • Advising Damaan Islamic Insurance Company (Beema) QPSC on the approx. USD 231 million direct listing of its shares on the Main Market of the Qatar Stock Exchange, making it the first ever direct listing on the Qatar Stock Exchange pursuant to the new Offering and Listing of Securities Rulebook issued by the Qatar Financial Markets Authority in 2021
  • Advising Al Faleh Educational Holding QPSC on its approx. USD 66m listing of its shares on the Venture Market of the Qatar Stock Exchange, the first company ever to be listed on this market
  • Advising Al Mahhar Holding QPSC, a Qatari holding company active in the energy and infrastructure sectors, on the restructuring of its group of companies and the approx. USD 113m direct listing of its shares on the Venture Market of the Qatar Stock Exchange, making it the second company to be listed on this market
  • Advising Lesha Bank LLC (Public) on its capital raise of up to 420 million ordinary shares through a rights issue, increasing the bank’s capital from approx. USD 191m to USD 307 million
  • Advising the Qatar Government (Public Works Authority) on a variety of public private partnerships, including the approx. USD 1.48bn Al Wakra Wukair Wastewater Treatment Plant and the Qatar Schools Public Private Partnership Development Program (Packages 1 and 2) to build 22 schools in the country
